Legacy seems to be slowly shifting away from being a solo vehicle for Legion, at least for the time being. This issue is actually more concerned with Blindfold. After laying an elaborate distraction for the rest of the X-Men, David sneaks into the infirmary, takes a jaunt into Blindfold's comatose mind, and winds up presenting readers with the first full account of her origin. Even by mutant standards, Blindfold has had a rough life. In that sense, this issue is a brutal read. But the story adds to her character rather than simply destroying her mystique. And by the end, Spurrier is able to tie together a few threads as far as the overarching threat of the book.

Between the psychic chaos of this issue and the running battle between the X-Men and a band of Dire Wraiths, Jorge Molina has no shortage of prime visual material to work with. The result is a much more exciting and varied take on the Jean Grey School than we've seen with his Wolverine and the X-Men issues. Still, I really would have liked to see how Tan Eng Huat would have handled this script. Huat's loopy style fits Spurrier's oddball storytelling like a glove.
